Year To Date Performance

If solar is to gain the trust of homeowners, then it must be a dependable energy source.

Each month we measure the actual energy produced versus the estimated amounts we originally shared with our customers. We believe accurately measuring energy production is not a nice thing to do. It is a core responsibility for any ENERGY company.

We have been tracking our systems since day 1.

Below is a look at the last two full years of production and 2025 year to date versus the very same estimates we shared with our clients.

Year to Date Performance and 2023 and 2024

Year to date, we are slightly above our estimated production. March was a big month production wise and quickly made up for a soft January and February.

Winter months can be tricky as an extra couple of days with snow on the roof can impact solar production. But the real story, in our opinion, is the dry weather continues here in the Mid-Atlantic region and that meant a whole lot of sun in March. While it is nice to get a big month of solar production, we like the rain too as it does a great job of cleaning the glass.

Run Time:

We also measure Run Time. This is a way to check for any issues with systems. We started measuring Run time in 2024.

As for Run Time, year to date all systems were operating until St. Patrick’s day… Maybe it was the green beer but we had a system not reporting March 17th and 18th. As is typically the case, the actual solar system was producing and doing its work without any issue. The monitoring system though had some type of hiccup with either the home wifi or the backup cell modem. We reset the system and it came back online the next morning. Still, we are calling this two days of downtime so perfect record for the year is out the window. This particular system has been an interesting one as it is a beautiful Edwardian home and the foundation walls in the basement are 18″ thick. Thick stone walls make for challenging wifi reception to say the least.

Between measuring production and run time, we are taking two steps to make sure that we deliver the real promise of solar: energy production, savings and a cleaner world.
